3rd month of development
The third month ...
What it can do by the end of the 3rd month of its life:
• It can lift and hold its head up, when in prone position.
• It laughs loudly and spontaneously.
• It reacts when it sees or hear you.
• It can join its hands.
• It tries to grab or reach items.
• It discovers the parts of its body. Everything is new to it.
• It will have intestine problems up to 3 months. You can understand from its facial expressions and movements (intense crying, bent legs, cringing) that most of the times it is upset, it is due to something happening to it.
Attention! All children are different from each other and each one has its own growth rate. The development stages described are based on the average rate. Do not worry if your baby deviates from this average. If however you do notice something worrying in its development, contact your pediatrician.
