
12th month of development
In the twelfth month ...
What it can do at the end of the 12th month of life:
• Babies start walking between their 10th and the 16th month of life.
• It can creep, crawl, walk sideways when held.
• It can clap its hands.
• It seeks and finds objects that ask it for.
• It comes to find you when you call it from another room.
• It reacts when you say 'no'.
• It learns to climb.
• It points with its finger to where it wants to go.
• At the age of one, most children have tripled their weight and have grown about 25 cm taller.
Attention! All children are different from each other and each one has its own growth rate. The development stages described are based on the average rate. Do not worry if your baby deviates from this average. If however you do notice something worrying in its development, contact your pediatrician.
