Rice and lentil mash
Lentils are a vegetable protein source. At the same time, they provide significant quantities of soluble natural fibres, which improve bowel movement in children suffering from constipation. Furthermore, they are a good solution for the days when you cannot include meat or fish in the infant's diet or you need to keep the meal in the fridge for more days.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup rice
- 1/3 cup lentils
- 1 carrot
- 1 small apple
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Preparation
- Bring enough water to the boil in a pot and add the rice and lentils. Simmer until soft.
- In another pot, cover the chopped carrot and apple with water and boil until soft. Keep the water.
- Mix all foods in the food processor, use as much water necessary to achieve the desired texture and then mash them.
- Add olive oil and mix it with a spoon.
